Living without Fibromyalgia-
                      Continuing Education for Massage Therapists

Fibromyalgia affects about 6 million Americans and has been the subject of much research and many treatment approaches. To date Fibromyalgia has been notoriously unresponsive to allopathic medical treatment.  Multidisciplinary approaches have been shown to be more useful but are missing an important factor - It is imperative to understand the rationale in order to successfully treat the illness. Treatments of Fibromyalgia should specifically focus  both on the muscle pathology and the impact of stress and/or trauma on the pathology .

Traditionally FM treatment addresses only one aspect of the condition, however as a result of  20 years of  significant research and clinical practice with patients with chronic pain and Fibromyalgia we developed  a theory-based mind-body approach for  treating this syndrome. Finally - a Fibromyalgia treatment protocol that works!

SPECIALIZE IN OR INTEGRATE an evidence based treatment for Fibromyalgia in your practice:

The two major components of the protocol -Medical Massage  and movement therapy  - were chosen to address the symptoms, provide a proactive treatment plan, and create a supportive and  motivating environment.

We  offer this two-part  program  to Massage Therapists who would like to either specialize in treating Fibromyalgia and chronic pain or  who would like to integrate a precise protocol into their practice for clients presenting with Fibromyalgia and other chronic pain syndromes.

The CE courses give the massage therapist tools for and the choice of either specializing in treating FM and chronic pain or integrating all or parts of the program into an existing practice.

This mind-body program is only being offered presently in the state of Florida.
